PHYSICAL THERAPY WITH HORSES

Physical therapy using the movement of the horse is a treatment strategy known as "hippotherapy." Sessions are tailored to the needs of the patient and may include working in the clinic space, the barn, the spacious indoor arena or on our interactive Discovery Trail.

After the initial evaluation, our PT develops an individual integrated plan of care. Through collaboration with the therapist, patient and family, functional goals are identified to be addressed during weekly treatment sessions using hippotherapy when appropriate. For more information, see Hippotherapy FAQs.

Progress is recorded after each session and documentation to support insurance reimbursement is available upon request for your own submission. Re-evaluations are completed every 6 to 12 months as determined by the PT.

If you are interested in physical therapy sessions, please complete and submit the Horse SenseAbility Participant Packet.
