Stable Moments is designed for 6- to 16-year-old children who are or have been in foster care. Young people who have suffered trauma, abuse and neglect have good reason to be distrustful of others. For these children, a horse provides an alternative sentient being with whom they can build a strong, reciprocal partnership.

A trained volunteer mentor and a horse meet 1-on-1 weekly with a child for an entire school year to develop life skills such as emotional awareness, self-regulation, anger management and appropriate boundaries.

If you are interested in participating in Stable Moments, please complete and submit the Horse SenseAbility Participant Packet.

If you are interested in becoming a Stable Moments mentor, please complete and submit the Stable Moments Mentor Packet

For more information about the Stable Moments model, read Stable Moments: Changing the Trajectory of Children in Foster Care available on the Stable Moments website and at Amazon.
