Horse Tales:
Reading, Writing & Riding
   
for 4th and 5th Graders Reading Below Grade Level

WHAT: Horse Tales is a hands-on introduction to horses, horsemanship, and horseback riding. No prior riding or experience with horses is required. Each day, participants will care for, ride, and spend time working with Horse SenseAbility’s specially trained herd of 10 horses. Participants will also explore books and videos about some fascinating famous horses.

WHO: 4th and 5th graders who are eager to learn about horses and are also reluctant readers (i.e., lack confidence or interest in reading). Horse Tales is not designed for children who are unable to read or have difficulty interpreting letters and verbally expressing themselves.

WHEN:  Session 1: Monday 8/8 – Friday 8/12, 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon (FULL)
               Session 2: Monday 8/15 – Friday 8/19, 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon (A FEW SPACES LEFT)

WHERE: Horse SenseAbility at 16 Nason Hill Lane, Sherborn MA. Transportation not provided.

COST: $100 total for 5 mornings including riding lessons due to a generous grant from Middlesex Savings Bank.
