How to Apply
If you are interested in participating in one or more of our programs, please follow these steps. A staff person will contact you once we receive your packet or form to arrange a visit to the farm. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@horsesenseability.org or call 508-744-6774.
To provide the highest quality experiences, we limit the number of participants in each program so apply early to reserve your place. Note that we often have a waiting list. To be added to it, please complete these steps:
-
Fill out our online Participant Packet for all programs other than Horse Tales.
-
For Horse Tales, fill out our Horse Tales Enrollment Form.
-
-
No matter which program you or your child will be attending at Horse SenseAbility, review our Participant Manual and sign the Participant Manual Statement of Completion before you start.
-
If your child will be participating in therapeutic riding lessons, send our Physician Statement to your doctor to fill out and return before you or your child can do any mounted activities. In the future, you will need to provide a standard school/camp physical on an annual basis.

Cancellation Policy
-
If you cancel, refunds and make-ups are NOT provided. Once you sign up for lessons, we reserve that spot specifically for you and cannot fill it even though you are absent. If you are unable to attend a regularly scheduled lesson, please notify us as soon as possible by calling 508-744-6774, texting 508-306-8954 or sending an email to info@horsesenseability.org.
-
If Horse SenseAbility cancels, all reasonable attempts will be made to notify you in a timely manner. In the case of such a cancellation, we will schedule a make-up lesson.
-
If the weather is inclement, Horse SenseAbility will conduct an unmounted session instead of riding if possible. If the Dover-Sherborn Public Schools cancel or delay due to weather, we will offer a refund.
FAQs
How do I request financial support?
We recognize the many financial challenges faced by our participants and their families. As a small non-profit organization, limited availability of grants and other funding make it impossible to honor all the requests we receive for financial assistance. We sincerely hope that applications for financial assistance will be made only after careful consideration of your needs. All decisions regarding financial assistance are made by the Board of Directors of Horse SenseAbility. If you would like to apply for financial assistance, please email our Executive Director for a link to the form.
Do you offer recreational riding lessons?
Traditional recreational riding lessons are available on a limited basis for family members of current participants. For more information about schedules, rates and fees, please contact us.
Do you bill insurance companies?
Horse SenseAbility does not bill insurance companies. However, we will gladly provide a receipt for therapeutic riding and horsemanship lessons that you can submit for reimbursement to your insurance company.
