Before you can volunteer, you must:

​

  1. Complete our online Volunteer Packet.

  2. Review the Volunteer Manual and sign the Volunteer Manual Statement of Completion. Volunteers must be 18 year or older.

​

  • ​​Barn helpers work with staff to care for the horses and keep their environment safe and clean.

  • Horse leaders steer and manage the horse during a lesson as needed. The horse leader is responsible for the horse not the rider and must have significant, recent experience with horses.

  • ​Side walkers provide physical and emotional support to the rider as needed. A side walker must have significant, recent experience with horses.​

  • Horsemanship helpers assist participants doing unmounted therapeutic activities such as grooming, learning about equine body language, doing arts and crafts and engaging in educational games.

Every volunteer receives one-and-one training before starting.
